As per traditional Ayurvedic practices, tongue cleaning is a ritual of gently removing unwanted toxins & residue off of the tongue. Copper was used traditionally because of its powerful antiseptic and anti-microbial properties. The ritual of tongue scraping helps eliminate bacteria that causes bad breath, draws out ama, or toxins, from the body & helps improve digestion by stimulating our taste buds.
A simple yet powerful ritual for better oral hygiene, and a clean tongue.
Clears toxins, bacteria, and dead cells from the tongue
Helps prevent bad breath
Enhances sense of taste
Promotes overall oral & digestive health and immunity
Gently stimulates the internal organs
This everyday ritual is best done first thing in the morning, before breakfast. Hold the tongue scraper from both sides. Extend the tongue out of the mouth. Place the tongue cleaner towards the back of the tongue & gently scrape the film outwards. Wash the ama off of the tongue cleaner & repeat until the tongue is clean.
100% pure uncoated copper will tarnish & discolour over time. But when cared for correctly it will last a lifetime. Here is our zero waste tips for cleaning copper:
Cut two lemons into halves.
